Hypnobirthing is a birthing method that uses self-hypnosis and relaxation to help a women narrow her focus and reduce her awareness of fear, anxiety and pain during childbirth.
2023 Birthing Class schedule
- Class November 1st - November 29th OPEN
The course is taught in 5 sessions of 2-2.5 hours
Birth Classes in Willard, Utah: I teach in-person birth classes in Box Elder County because I love interacting with my students face-to-face! I have also noticed that more effective learning takes place when we are together in the same room.
Class tuition is $335 and includes the HypnoBirthing textbook, workbook, hypnotic scripts, and practice tracks. You may hold your spot in the class with a non-refundable $100 deposit, and the remainder of tuition is due on the first day of class. Click on the "Contact" link to email me for information on how to send your deposit.
If fewer than three couples have registered for class, I reserve the right to cancel the series. In that case, all deposits would be refunded in full.
**If you are very near your birthing time and are unable to attend class for five weeks, please inquire about a private course.**

FAQ:
How much does the HypnoBirthing course cost?
*The price is $335 per pregnant belly and one birth companion. All materials (textbook, workbook, extra scripts, and relaxation tracks) are included.
Is this class eligible for HSA reimbursement?
*Yes, most HSA's consider a childbirth preparation class to be a coverable expense. Check with your company to make sure. Once I receive your full payment, upon request, I will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your HSA for reimbursement.
Do I have to attend with a partner?
*I highly recommend that you attend the course with someone who will support you during your birth. This is usually a spouse or partner, but you may also bring a family member, close friend, doula, etc. Your birth companion will learn how to become a key part of your birth experience.
When should I enroll in a HypnoBirthing course?
*I've had parents begin the course anytime between 12-37 weeks pregnant, and during all of those time frames, parents are able to work and create a beautiful birth. The key is to take the class when you can dedicate the time and energy to practicing the many things you will be learning. I prefer that you begin your course by week 32 if possible so you won't feel rushed as you learn and practice the class material.
How can I make up a missed class?
*If you must miss a class during the 5-week series, you have two options. You may schedule a private make-up session with me (as long as my schedule permits) for $125. You may also attend the missed class during my next series (as long as you are still pregnant!) at no cost to you. Please check with me ahead of time for my future class schedule.
Do I need to take any other birth preparation classes?
*I happily answer "No," to this question. HypnoBirthing is a complete childbirth preparation course and has all of the elements you'll need to prepare for an awesome birth. We cover cultivating a positive mindset, how your amazing uterus works, breathing during different parts of labor, movement and how it helps labor progress, choosing the right care provider, the birth plan, the role of your birth companion, comfort measures, relaxation techniques, and much more. I'd be happy to email you the course outline which mentions the major themes we cover each week in class.
Will I be asleep or in a trance during labor?
*The hypnosis you learn during class is really just increased mindfulness or heightened awareness. Although many HypnoBirthers appear to be asleep, they are actually very much aware and present; they are just choosing to tune out distractions that could interrupt their labor. It takes a lot of mental energy to remain calm during the intensity of labor, and you will learn how to work with your mind to channel your energy where you need it most.
Why do I need to attend an in-person class when I can just read the book and learn about HypnoBirthing online?
*The HypnoBirthing textbook is a wonderful supplement to the course and must be read in addition to being in class. The material presented in class includes 10+ hours of detailed explanations, mental and visual conditioning, hypnotic exercises, and valuable feedback on a weekly basis. A person would miss approximately 75% of the course content by only reading the textbook.
*The knowledge and techniques that parents acquire during the course take time and effort to master, and this is best done in the format specified by HypnoBirthing International. Parents are able to take the time to hone their new skills under the direction of a professional educator and therefore look forward to an optimal birth experience.
There are many hypnosis for birth programs available. How is HypnoBirthing different?
*Many hypnosis programs contain similar elements to what you'll find in a HypnoBirthing class, but there's only one original program with all these elements. HypnoBirthing, the Mongan Method, is the original hypnosis for birth program and has over 30 years of amazing results.
*The HypnoBirthing Institute has been collecting data from HypnoBirthing couples for all these years, which is used to provide top-notch training to HypnoBirthing educators. These educators are then able to share invaluable instruction with parents all over the world in many different languages.
*Many thousands of couples have been able to experience a safer, easier, and more comfortable birth, thanks to HypnoBirthing. We are changing the world, one birth at a time.
Is HypnoBirthing only for natural or out-of-hospital births?
*HypnoBirthing facilitates a better experience no matter where or how you birth. We believe that most births should occur without unnecessary interventions, so we do focus our instruction on normal physiological birth. A truly supportive care provider will be comfortable viewing birth as a natural process.
*Occasionally special circumstances necessitate extra assistance for the safety of mother and/or baby, and during those times, HypnoBirthing parents are calmly and confidently able to meet whatever turn their birthing takes, counsel with their trusted care provider, navigate the unexpected turn together, and emerge from the birth feeling joyful and empowered.
